    1. I was born in a village called Rathghar, near kamedi devi in Kumaon. I left my village when I was around 6 years old, that was about 55 years ago. I want to visit my motherland. Can you help me locate my hometown?

  2. According to the kumaoni (DANPUR) MYTHOLOGY ONCE UPON A TIME WHEN MATA Parwati was traveling from mount Kailash to mount Nanda Devi (her father,s house, on the way an evil soul Demon came stalking her. Mata took shelter at the top of mount shikhar with a Shepherd who was resting there with his folk of sheep and was dumping the small luggage carrying bags ("KARPUCHH" these are still used to load sheep folks for carrying essential goods in high altitude area of kumaon and Garhwal region). The sheperd was non other then Lord Vishnu (Shree MoolNarayan Ji). Mata Nanda (Parwati took hide in the heap of KARPUCHH ("Karpuchh uk Baang" the demon coudnt fid her and went away.Next morning when MATA Nanda wok up she thanked the sheperd and came to know that there was no water source arround on the hill top, than she created a holethere on the earth for the thirsty sheep folk In the photo , a narrow cave is shown. this is the only spontaneous water source on the hill top known as "BYanwar"
Both "Byanwar" and Heap of "Karpuchh" are worshipped as the SHAKTI PEETH ON mount "SHIKHAR" a BIG AND GRAND mela is organised every year on the Triyodashi of month of Kartik .As all the danpurias use to be sheperd in olden days that,s why we the danpurias worship Lord Mool Narayan Ji with great faith.
