Chaubatia

Tarikhet

At a distance of 8 km from the town of Ranikhet. This village is a famous as a site during the India’s struggle for independence. Its most popular attraction is the ‘Gandhi Kutiya.

Mount Trishul, Mrigthuni, Nanda Devi, Nanda Kot, all the high mountain ranges as seen from Chiliyanaula.

Steps Farms of Uttarakhand

Step farming are done majority in Uttarakhand. Step farming is done because there are mountains unlike plains. In plains area is big and you can use big tractors too whereas in mountains you have to make steps like farm according to slope and you can only use ox to plough. These farms when ripe look very beautiful and colourful in clusters. This one is near Bageshwar taken at Karuli.
This was beautiful stepped farms with village on top and nice skies on back. This was taken near Pithoragarh.
This was another stepped farms mostly barren as can be seen. Clusters of vegetation had grown without anything growing on the farm. This was taken while going to Pancheshwar, Lohaghat.

Jauljibi

Jauljibi is a small town in Pithoragarh District where there is sangam of Gori and Kali River. This town lies near the natural border of India and Nepal. After this Dharchula lies from which people go to Kailash Mansarovar Yatra.

Bhujan, Almora


Bhujan lies in National Highway 87. Before Bhujan comes Khairna Bridge. Kosi River flows from here. From Bhujan two roads divide, straight road goes to Ranikhet while othe one goes to Kosi Bridge, Betal Ghat.


Bhujan has lots of farms near the banks of Kosi River.


Bhujan is very scenic place situated in a valley. It is also a junction and a place where two rivers meet.


Ratighat

Ratighat is a place located in National Highway 87. River Kosi flows from here which is usually seen running dry. It lies in Nainital to Ranikhet route. Usually there is vegetation here but can boom during rains. The beds of Kosi River here are very wide. In 1993 this area suffered from massive landslide.

Polarichinna on Takula Road

Polarichinna has a big plain area on both sides of the road where there are vast spread farms. Roads in this route have much turns. This can be called a farming area.

Waterfalls in Uttarakhand

A stream line waterfall almost continuous like threads of water falling from above. This was taken in Madkot Line.
This is a big waterfall falling from great height. This was taken ahead of Dharchula near the Dhauliganaga Power House.
This is a waterfall breaking into multiple channels due to rocks.
This is a waterfall falling on the side of the road from above while going to Dharchula.

This was group of mountains back to back. As you can see there are many almost same height of hills side to side spreading backwards. Took it from the Chandak route in Pithoragarh.

Munsiyari

Munsiyari being very close to the Panchchuli Range, one can see the peaks very clearly and close to proximity. There is a point Khalia Top from Ratapani. It is higher than Munsiyari and one can see full Range very very clearly.

 This is Messar Kund near Munsiyari where there is a meadow and small Kund. 
Munsyari is the name of a town and a tehsil in the Pithoragarh District. It lies at an altitude of 7200 feet. There are three ways to come here but can be blocked during rains.
This is TRH Munsiyari.
This is the Panchchuli Peak II towering at 23000 feet. This can be seen clearly from anywhere in Munsiyari. This is a base point for trekkers to go to Milam Glacier.
These are the small villages on the opposite mountin to Munsiyari as seen from Munsiyari. As you can see the town goes till higher than Munsiyari. People have to walk a lot here.

Sattal

This is a small secluded, beautiful green lake amidst dense jungles side to main Sattal Lake.
This is Sattal Lake which is s small remotely located down the mountains. One has to drive all the way down to get this Lake.

Cannabis, Ganja, Marijuana in Uttarakhand

A term of Sanskrit origin for cannabis (drug). People grow this for their seeds which are pounded and used in vegetable which gives it a taste. Seeds being harmless are hence used. Most of the people grow it in small land in front of their houses. They are not for selling.

Traditional Houses in Uttarakhand

Traditional houses are made of mud and stones. Such houses from inside dont have Kajaria Flooring. They have wed mud layers. Bricks are not used instead stones are used.  
Stones are seen in the house in picture. They are built from all stones of various sizes and carved.
Another stone house perching at the edge of mountain with small green area in front with beautiful valley in front.

Anashakti Ashram, Kausani

Gandhi spent 14 days while writing his book on Anasakti Yoga. His spinning wheel and other items are kept here. From outside there is a dial in which Himalayan mountain names are inscribed which can be seen in a clear day.

Dwarahat, Almora


There are many colleges near Dwarahat. There's row of colleges and hostels. Picture shown is of one of the college building or hostel. There's a big ground in this area. It can be said that its a knowledge area.
